Michael McKean, Mary Steenburgen, and More: Your Guide to ‘Grace and Frankie’s’ Guest Stars

First Ladies of Netflix Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are back with another season of Grace and Frankie, so clear your schedules and get ready to binge. Grace and Frankie Season 6 finds the duo’s dynamic changed forever due to Grace’s sudden marriage to Nick. While that would be more than enough drama for the two to handle, Season 6 tosses a whole lot more obstacles at Grace, Frankie, and their extended families.

This being Grace and Frankie, you just know that the guest stars have lined up for a chance to hang out with Fonda, Tomlin, Martin Sheen, Sam Waterston, and the rest. Plenty of icons pop up in Season 6, as do a few fan favorite performers and a frenzy of sharks. Sidenote: did you know that a group of sharks is called a frenzy? That’s rad as hell.

Anyway—here’s everything you need to know about the major guest stars of Grace and Frankie Season 6, including a few returning favorites. And just so you know, this is as spoiler-free as can be. Ready? Dive in, but watch out for sharks!

Peter Gallagher plays Nick on Grace and Frankie. If you’re into Grace and Frankie, then you know who Peter Gallagher is! He’s had a recurring role as Grace’s boyfriend Nick since Season 3. Season 6 features him more than ever, though, as he’s now Grace’s husband.

Gallagher has an extensive TV career, having played William Dodds on Law & Order: SVU, Schmidt’s dad on New Girl, Arthur on Covert Affairs, and (most notably) Sandy Cohen on The O.C.

Engelbert Humperdinck

The impossibly named Engelbert Humperdinck (he changed his name to that!) pops up in the Season 6 premiere in Grace and Nick’s wedding video. The crooner is known to the over-40 crowd for more than just his wacky name, though; his hits include “Release Me (and Let Me Love Again)”, “Am I That Easy to Forget,” “Winter World of Love,” and “After the Lovin’.”

Mary Steenburgen

Mary Steenburgen plays Miriam on Grace and Frankie. Miriam’s arrival is a big deal for Grace, as she is Nick’s ex-wife. Steenburgen is an Academy Award-winning legend (Best Supporting Actress for Melvin and Howard) who recently co-starred with Jane Fonda in the delightfully ridiculous comedy Book Club. Her other credits include Ragtime, Parenthood, Back to the Future Part III, Elf, Step Brothers, The Proposal, and The Help. She played herself on Curb Your Enthusiasm, recurred on Orange Is the New Black, and can currently be seen on NBC’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.

Michael McKean

Michael McKean plays Jack on Grace and Frankie, a Deadhead that goes from Frankie’s foil to Frankie’s love interest. His film credits include the Christopher Guest movies A Mighty Wind, Best In Show, This is Spinal Tap, and For Your Consideration. He also played Mr. Green in Clue. McKean earned an Emmy nomination for his role as chuck McGill on Better Call Saul. He was also a cast member on Saturday Night Live for the 1994-1995 season.

Elliott Gould plays Dr. Rogers on Grace and Frankie, a doctor that gives some news to Robert and Sol. Gould is a film legend thanks to roles in MASH and Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice. He also played Reuben in the Ocean’s franchise. But of all his work, he’s probably most known for his 20 appearances on Friends as Monica and Ross’ dad Jack Geller.

Ernie Hudson

Ernie Hudson plays Jacob on Grace and Frankie, one of Frankie’s exes. Jacob popped up in the first four seasons of Grace and Frankie, so you longtime fans know his deal. You also know Ernie Hudson’s deal, because he was Winston Zeddmore in the Ghostbusters franchise. His other film credits include The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, the Miss Congeniality movies, and Congo. You can currently see him on the TV series L.A.’s Finest.

Orson Bean

Orson Bean plays Bruno on Grace and Frankie, introduced as a possible solution to Joan-Margaret’s immigration woes. Bean is an acting legend from way back, with credits stretching all the way back to 1952. His film credits include Anatomy of a Murder and Being John Malkovich, and he provided the voice of Bilbo Baggins in the ’70s Hobbit TV movies. On TV, he played Loren Bray on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and had recurring roles on The Facts of Life and Desperate Housewives. Still, he’s probably most known for his appearances on ’70s game shows like Match Game and Tattletales.

Casey Wilson

Casey Wilson plays wellness mogul Taneth on Grace and Frankie. Wilson rose to fame thanks to her 1.5 seasons on Saturday Night Live, but her career really exploded afterwards thanks to the cult classic sitcom Happy Endings. Her follow-up TV roles include the Hotwives franchise, Atypical, Black Monday, and Mrs. Fletcher.

  • Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks
  • Barbara Corcoran, founder of the real estate brokerage company The Corcoran Group
  • Kevin O’Leary, co-founder of SoftKey Software Products
  • Lori Greiner, who became the “queen of QVC” after creating a patenting an earring organizer that kicked off her career
  • Rohan Oza, whose resume includes stints in charge of M&M’s, Snickers, Coca-Cola, and Vitamin Water
