‘The Circle’ Contestants Give You Advice on Applying to (And Winning!) Season 2

Now that The Circle Season 1 is over, you probably have one burning question (just one, since we already got answers to 20 others): how can you get cast on Season 2?! Of all the reality shows, The Circle really seems like the best one to be on. You don’t have to be particularly good at a specific skill like singing or clothing design, you don’t have to withstand insane physical trials, you don’t have to be wealthy AF, and–most importantly–you don’t have to live with a bunch of strangers! All you have to do to win The Circle is be good at sitting on your couch (and okay, knowing how to strategize and form alliances helps).

So, how do you get to be a contestant on The Circle Season 2? First off, there has to be a second season of The Circle. Netflix hasn’t ordered it yet, but it seems like a no-brainer considering how successful Season 1 has been. Plus they have a building permanently outfitted to record further seasons of the show so, they gotta put it to use! Let’s move ahead operating under the assumption that The Circle Season 2 is on the way, hopefully ASAP.

How to get cast on The Circle Season 2

It might help to keep an eye on the sites that helped producers cast Season 1 of the US spinoff of The Circle. You can visit thecirclecasting.com, which has portals to apply for all four international versions of the show (UK, US, Brazil, and France). And if you want updates about the US version, you can set your phone to alert you whenever @CastTheCircleUS tweets again. By keeping an eye on those two links, you may be able to stay up on the show’s casting process.

Now let’s say that Netflix orders Season 2 and those sites start taking applications. How do you make yours stand out? And how do you play the game should you get cast? Well, there are only a handful of people in America that know the answers to those questions: the cast of Season 1! That’s why we reached out to the cast members from The Circle Season 1 and asked them for advice on not only getting cast on the show and standing out to casting directors, but how to play the game to win. Keep these wise words close, should you find yourself sitting on a couch in the UK, surrounded by a dozen mounted cameras, shouting at a TV screen!

Advice from The Circle Season 1 castmates on how to get cast on (and hopefully win!) Season 2

Seaburn: “Truthfully, bring big energy. And make sure if you catfish, you will have to really relate to the character or it won’t work. You have to emotionally connect to that person. That’s why I chose my girl, because she was my light.”

Antonio: “I say when you go on your audition, make sure you have a strategy already made up and down pat! And just be yourself times 10,000. Be super extra so they can get your personality!”

Alex: “I just applied through the website and every step of the way I was shocked that I’d advanced. My advice would be to make a really good intro video and work on the short, open-ended questions. They’re looking for people who can talk through their process and be super articulate about it. They definitely want high energy and excitement but also genuine people. I loved the experience and would recommend it for anyone who’s capable of seeing past nasty comments on the internet.”

Bill: “Go in there and be the best version of yourself! For me, that meant staying excited and curious. Say what’s on your mind and, above all, be 100% honest with yourself and your surroundings.”

Ed: “My advice would be don’t hold anything back! Whether being yourself on the show, or someone else, go all in from the beginning to the very end. Whatever your strategy, be sure that you leave with no regrets, nothing left unsaid. Let your voice be heard and express yourself! Don’t care what people think about you. Have fun with it!”
