Happy Woman Crush Wednesday, lovely readers! Today we’re celebrating a hilarious and lovely woman who, if she isn’t on your radar already, she definitely should be; Everybody, give it up for this week’s WCW, Patti Harrison!

WHO’S THAT GAL: Patti Harrison

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Harrison returns as Ruthie on the second season of Aidy Bryant’s Hulu comedy series, Shrill, which drops on the platform this Friday, January 24th. Harrison was a breakout star and scene-stealer in the first season as the unhinged receptionist at Annie’s (Bryant) place of employment. This new season will see Annie in a different job, but luckily still feature Harrison’s comedic chops, as the trailer (much to our gratitude and relief) shows that she will still be popping in and wrecking delightful havoc (like whipping Annie in the face with her braid), and we absolutely cannot wait to see her back in action.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Harrison has made a name for herself in comedy these past few years, beginning on television with a guest role in The Chris Gethard Show in 2017, and from there becoming a correspondent for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, starring as Renee for three episodes of Search Party, and appearing in a sketch last year in Tim Robinson’s breakout Netflix sketch show, I Think You Should Leave. Harrison has also found success on the big screen, first with a small role in the 2018 film Bagdad, Florida, and then again one year later in Paul Feig’s comedy thriller A Simple Favor. She has also made a name for herself hosting Comedy Central web-series, Unsend, alongside stand-up comedian (and former Decider columnist) Joel Kim Booster, since 2017. With so much success on screens big and small within just the last four years, we have do doubt that we will be seeing much more of Harrison in the years to come.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: 2020 is already looking to be a big year for Harrison. She has been cast alongside Ed Helms in a new romantic drama called Togetherish, in which she plays Anna, an aimless young women hired by a wealthy app designer (Helms) to be a gestational surrogate. Harrison is also a writer for the fourth season of Big Mouth, which is expected to release on Netflix in September or October of this year.
