Meghan McCain and Joy Behar Get Into a Trump-Induced Cage Match: “He is President! Move On!”

The View‘s co-hosts certainly aren’t feeling the love this Valentine’s Day. On Friday morning, Meghan McCain and Joy Behar practically came to blows during a discussion about President Trump and Michael Bloomberg’s recent Twitter feud. When the co-hosts disagreed on Bloomberg’s chances to win the midwest, McCain exploded, saying, “You know what, Joy? I’ve been right on election stuff and you’ve been wrong, so just trust me on this!”

This morning, The View opened the show with a discussion about Trump and Bloomberg’s latest Twitter fight, in which the president called the Democratic candidate “mini,” and the former New York City mayor took a shot at Trump’s wealth. While Behar applauded the move because “Trump’s achilles heel is his money,” McCain insisted that Bloomberg’s record makes him unappealing to midwestern voters. “I’m sorry. A guy that wants to take away your Slurpee is going to have a real problem in coal mining towns,” she said.

Behar didn’t hesitate before firing back. “You know what? The guy who wants to take away your healthcare is even in worse shape!” she said.

“You know what, Joy? I’ve been right on election stuff and you’ve been wrong, so just trust me on this!” said McCain. When Behar asked how she’s been wrong, McCain said that she “thought that Trump was going to lose in 2016.” Added the conservative co-host, “I didn’t. Not me.”

“Me and 100 million other people,” said Behar, noting that Trump lost the popular vote to Clinton. “Does that make you feel good at night,” spat McCain. “[Trump] is still in the White House! It’s a ridiculous thing to say every single day on the show. He is president! Move on!”

A small group of audience members applauded McCain’s statement, but Behar ignored them. “Everyone on this panel repeats themselves, okay?” she said, tilting her head. McCain then provided some psychoanalysis and said that Behar is constantly “trying to make [her]self feel better” with her anti-Trump comments. “It’s weird,” she said.

“I don’t want to make myself feel better! I want him out!” yelled Behar from across the table. “And you know what a good way to do that is?” asked McCain. “Not ignoring coal miners … I’m telling you that Bloomberg is finally going to have a problem with these people.”

When Behar noted that at the very least, Bloomberg is willing to take steps to address climate change, McCain really turned on the gas. “Climate change is a good way to win over coal miners, Joe,” she said. She quickly corrected herself, explaining that she was thinking about yesterday’s guest Joe Biden, and the flub injected some much-needed levity into the fight.”You can call me Joe. My real name is Josephine,” joked Behar.

“Well, this is a hell of a Valentine’s Day show,” added Ana Navarro. A hell of a Valentine’s Day show, indeed.
