Mayor Pete Weighs In On Colin Jost’s ‘SNL’ Impression Of Him On ‘Ellen’

Former South Bend, Ind., Mayor and Democratic Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg appeared on the Ellen show on Friday to answer her questions for a comical segment she calls “Candidly Candid Candidates.” Ellen claims she will be having all of the other candidates on the show to play the game as well.

The main takeaway from Pete’s appearance is that he actually isn’t very impressed with Colin Jost’s Saturday Night Live impression of him, considering he was a former college dormmate of his at Harvard University, graduating in 2004.

“I’d give it a six and a half” out of 10, said Buttigieg when asked what he would rate Jost’s performance.

“You know, I actually went to college with Colin,” Buttigieg told host Ellen DeGeneres, when asked about the Weekend Update host’s impression.

“We weren’t very close, but I knew him. We were in the same dorm,” said Buttigieg.

“I could just imagine some scenario where we were probably standing in line next to each other in the cafeteria, and if you could’ve told us he’d be playing me on ‘SNL,'” added Buttigieg, 38. You can check out the clip above.

The 2020 Presidential Candidate was also asked a slew of other questions such as which other Democratic Candidate he would choose to be stuck on a deserted island with to which he simply answered “Bernie.” Because they “wouldn’t run out of things to talk about.”
