Looking for a new show to blow your mind? Then FX on Hulu has your back with the premiere of Alex Garland’s new miniseries, Devs.

Starring Nick Offerman, Sonoya Mizuno, and Alison Pill, it’s difficult to explain the exact plot of this sci-fi thriller. Just know that there’s murder, a nefarious tech company, a possibly corrupt CEO, and a ton of monologues that are designed to make you question reality itself. From who’s in Devs cast and what Devs is about to its trailer and reviews, here’s everything you need to know about this season’s first FX on Hulu original.

When Does Devs Come Out on Hulu?

Get ready for the premiere of the very first FX on Hulu original. Devs will premiere exclusively on Hulu Thursday, March 5 with its first two episodes. New episodes will then premiere on Hulu every week.

If you want to watch this new drama then you’re going to need a Hulu account. Fortunately those are pretty easy to get. Currently Hulu offers four basic plans. For $5.99 a month subscribers can access Hulu’s limited plan with commercials, and for $11.99 a month subscribers can watch ad-free. What’s that you say? You’re interested in Hulu + Live TV and all those sweet cable perks? Hulu + Live TV’s commercial plan is currently going for $54.99 a month, and its commercial free plan is only $60.99 a month.

There are even Hulu options if you’re a diehard streamer looking for a bargain. The streaming service currently offers a bundle with Disney+ and ESPN+. For only $12.99 a month subscribers can get access to all three streaming services, though the Hulu option comes with ads.

No matter how you watch Hulu, you now have access to FX shows. FX on Hulu is available to subscribers for no additional cost.

What Time Does Devs Come Out on Hulu?

Though past Hulu releases of shows have dropped around 12 am ET/9 pm PT, a representative of FX told Decider that FX on Hulu shows will post new episodes to Hulu at 6 a.m. ET/ 3 a.m. PT. If you don’t see the first two episodes by 6 a.m., don’t worry. Sometimes there’s a bit of a lag when it comes to Hulu’s new releases. Just hit refresh and they should appear.

When Does Devs Come Out on FX?

Even though Devs is an FX show, it’s not airing on the network. Devs will exclusively premiere and live on Hulu. Basically if you want to watch introspective, tech-loving Ron Swanson you’re going to need a Hulu account.

Who Is in Devs‘ Cast?

If you’re a fan of Alex Garland or great television in general, you’re going to be seeing a lot of familiar faces. Devs stars Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation, Fargo), Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina, Annihilation), Alison Pill (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, The Newsroom, American Horror Story), Cailee Spaeny (Pacific Rim: Uprising), and Janet Mock (producer Pose).

Is There a Devs Trailer? Where Can I Find Devs Reviews?

There certainly is. You can check out the trailer for this warped examination of the lines between technology and humanity above. As for reviews, we have you covered on that front too. Check out Decider’s take on the two dueling shows competing in this sci-fi thriller. At the time of publication Devs has a 76% on Rotten Tomatoes.

What Is Devs About?

That’s a tricky question. The title refers to a mysterious branch of a technology company called Amaya. Sergei (Karl Glusman), a young and ambitious employee, is recruited to Amaya’s devs team. But shortly after his promotion he disappears to the distress of his girlfriend Lily (Mizuno). Most of the series revolves around Lily trying to figure out what exactly happened to her boyfriend even though the head of Amaya would rather she not learn the truth.

But the other, more theoretical part of Devs examines the principle of determinism. This theory basically states that everything in the world is based on cause and effect. Taken to its most extreme form this concept all but eliminates the concept of free will. How exactly this complicated theory relates to what Amaya is doing is yet another mystery.

How Many Episodes Are in Devs?

Altogether there will be eight episodes in Devs. Since the series is being called a miniseries, it’s likely that these will be the only eight episodes of Garland’s tech drama. But if television in 2020 has taught us anything it’s that the word “miniseries” is more of a suggestion than a rule (looking at you, Big Little Lies). Though it’s currently only planned to be one season, it wouldn’t be surprising if Devs continued on as an anthology series.
