The Oscar films of 2019 continue to make their VOD debut as 2020 rolls on, and now you can add 1917 to the list. This World War I film broke new technical ground while also telling an Oscar-worthy story. The film amassed 10 Academy Award nominations, including ones for director Sam Mendes (Skyfall) and Best Picture, and won three (Cinematography, Visual Effects, Sound Mixing).
