‘The Bachelor’ Fans React to Peter’s Mom Barb: “Those Salty Looks Could Rim Margaritas”

For once, The Bachelor season finale lived up to the hype. On Tuesday night, ABC wrapped up Peter Weber‘s season with a two-hour finale that saw the 28-year-old pilot decide between not one, not two, but three women: Madison Prewett, Hannah Ann Sluss, and his mother Barbara. By all accounts, Peter’s mom stole the show last night, and ABC even deployed a special “Barb Cam” to show her live reactions on screen. Twitter users had a field day with the Barb Cam, with one writing, “The devil works hard but Bachelor producers work harder.” Ain’t that the truth.

If you missed The Bachelor‘s two-night (and four-hour) season finale, here’s a quick recap. In Part 1, Madison, a very religious Christian who didn’t approve of Peter’s sex life, broke Peter’s heart when she decided to leave due to their conflicting lifestyles. Last night, in Part 2, the pilot proposed to Hannah Ann, and his parents were overjoyed — particularly his mom, who connected with the 23-year-old model during her hometown visit.

But then, all hell broke loose. About a month after the proposal, Peter and Hannah Ann saw each other again for the first time, and it was super awkward. When Peter told her that he still has feelings for Madison, she left for good, but not before twisting the knife one last time. “If you want to be with a woman, you need to become a real man,” she said during the live portion of the finale.

With the help of Bachelor host Chris Harrison, Peter and Madison decided to give a real relationship a try. Bachelor Nation may have been pumped, but Barb certainly was not. As her son and the 23-year-old Alabama native reconciled, Barb’s unhappy face could be seen at the bottom corner of the screen. And quite an unhappy face it was!

Viewers immediately took to Twitter to comment on ABC’s “savage” Barb Cam and the frequent cutaways to Peter’s mom. “Just when we all thought that no one would ever for a moment stop talking about the coronavirus, in comes Barb,” wrote one user. “Those salty looks could rim margaritas,” wrote another. “I literally need Barb Cam on every channel,” said another.

If Chris Harrison ever decides to step down as Bachelor host, Barb seems more than ready to step in. At the very least, can we get the Barb Cam set up on The Bachelorette Season 19?

The Bachelor Season 24 finale is now streaming on Hulu.
