‘Queer Eye’ Moseying Down to Texas for Season 6 on Netflix

The Fab Five are gearing up for a new season of makeover magic! Netflix has announced that Queer Eye Season 6 is coming, and it’s going to be set in Texas. Specifically, the Queer Eye squad will set up shop in Austin, Texas, their home base while they and their team search for people in need of a glow up.

If you’re a diehard Queer Eye fan, though, I know what you’re thinking: Season 6?! We haven’t even gotten Season 5 yet! Fortunately, Netflix spilled a little bit of tea on that whole situation as well. Season 5 filmed in Philadelphia last year, and is slated to drop on Netflix in Summer 2020. It’s coming soon!

The last time we saw the Fab Five, they were serving international realness in Queer Eye: We’re In Japan! They’re coming back to the states for Season 5 and Season 6.

This news also marks what appears to be a turning point in the show’s production. Previously, Queer Eye would film two seasons in a single location (Seasons 1-2 were in the Atlanta area and Seasons 2-4 were in the Kansas City area). Now we know that the show’s jumping from city to city each season, from Philly in this summer’s Season 5 to Texas in (presumably) next year’s Season 6. Whether or not this ultimately means we’re getting less episodes a year—did they shoot 16 episodes in Philadelphia or just 8?—remains to be seen.

Production on Queer Eye Season 6 is now underway in Texas. Queer Eye Season 5 arrives on Netflix this summer.
