Seth Rogen Got Stoned, Watched ‘Cats’, And Offered Live Commentary: “It Is Truly Trippy”

Seth Rogen is asking the important questions: “What is a Jellicle?!” On Tuesday night, the actor and comedian made the questionable decision to get really high and watch Cats, a film he described as “truly trippy.” Much to the Twitter world’s delight, Rogen live tweeted his entire experience, and he offered up (very valid) questions about the cats’ pants, Judi Dench’s role, and the scale of the set. “I don’t know what’s happening haha,” said Rogen, and also every other Cats viewer, high or not.

Last night, Rogen took full advantage of Cats hitting VOD and decided to give it a whirl. But this is Seth Rogen we’re talking about, so obviously he got really high before queuing up the 2019 live-action adaptation. “I’m pretty stoned and watching Cats. I’ve never seen the broadway show. It is truly trippy,” tweeted the actor. “Am I supposed to know what a Jellicle is? They’ve said it 200,000 times but I don’t know what’s happening haha.”

Over the course of the next 47 minutes (Cats is 110 minutes long, so he didn’t even make it halfway), Rogen provided a running commentary the film, as well as his slow descent into Cats-induced madness. “The scale is bizarre. The behind the scenes features, which are amazing, said the set is 2.5 times scale but that would mean cats are like 60 pounds in real life!” he tweeted. Why would you watch the behind the scenes features for a movie that you haven’t seen yet? Did he watch those first?!

I digress. Rogen also had questions about the Cats rehearsal process, which required stars Idris Elba, Judi Dench, James Corden, and Taylor Swift to practice their feline behavior for days on end. “I have a hard time getting actors to rehearse for like 20 mins,” he wrote. “They got these people to train to lick their hands and rub them in their hair for weeks!!!” Added Rogen, “Like why even make these actors show up on set? They’re playing cats.”

Finally, Rogen couldn’t take it anymore. “Alright I’m turning this off and watching 90 day fiancé,” he tweeted. “Good night. Stay clean as fuck.” And not like, cats lick. Real human clean.

Cats is currently available for purchase on iTunesPrime VideoFandangoNowGoogle PlayVudu, and more. It will be available for rent on April 7.
