Oprah Winfrey Talks Coronavirus With Infected Idris Elba On Surprise New Apple TV+ Series ‘Oprah Talks COVID-19’

While we witness the coronavirus as it continues to spread around the world and the entertainment industry as well as late night hosts everywhere are continuing to adapt, Oprah Winfrey has revealed a surprise new Apple TV+ series dedicated to the pandemic titled Oprah Talks COVID-19. Famed actor Idris Elba, who tested positive for the virus earlier this month, was Winfrey’s first guest.

In the first episode, Winfrey speaks with the actor and his wife Sabrina Dhowre, using remote video, about how they are coping after Elba’s diagnosis, which came shortly after Tom Hanks.

Winfrey posted a preview clip of the interview on Saturday evening via Twitter. In the video, Elba says: “One of the upsides of this whole drama is that we are forced to think together as a race, as a human race.”

Oprah Talks COVID-19 is now streaming and can be viewed on Apple TV+, whether you have a subscription to the service or not. The first episode can also be seen at apple.co/-oprahtalks.

More than 100 countries currently have access to stream the series via the platform using the Apple TV app. New episodes are slated to debut weekly, and will remain free to all viewers.

According to the World Health Organization, coronavirus has breached 185 countries and territories. As of Saturday, March 21, there were 267,013 confirmed global cases and 11,201 deaths.
