WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Nash stars as Sylvia in Uncorked, a movie that premieres on Netflix this Friday, March 27th. Nash’s Sylvia is a restauranteur alongside her husband Louis (Courtney B. Vance) who want their son Elijah (Mamoudou Athie) to stay in the family business. However, tensions quickly rise within the family as Elijah expresses his desire to leave the family business to instead become a master sommelier. Uncorked has already been highlighted by The New York TimesTV GuideVanity Fair, and more as a new Netflix program to watch this month, so don’t miss out on seeing Nash crush it in this film!

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Nash is an acclaimed actress, comedian, and producer who has already amassed quite an impressive list of credits and award nominations for her work in film and television. She made her professional acting debut in 1995 comedy-drama film Boys on the Side, and from there she continued to get regular work, appearing in films Cookie’s Fortune and The Bachelor in 1999, and getting a recurring role as Eveline Walker in the 2000 season of medical drama television show City of Angels. Nash continued to earn supporting or guest roles in movies such as 2003 comedy, Malibu’s Most Wanted, 2005 comedy Guess Who, and 2008 animated film Horton Hears a Who!, as well as popular TV shows RebaThat’s So RavenER, and My Name is Earl, all in the early to mid 2000s.

Nash hit her stride as Deputy Raineesha Williams in comedy series Reno 911!; She maintained her series regular role for show’s entire run from 2003 to 2009, and will resume it once more this year for the Quibi reboot. While acting in Reno 911! Nash hosted home makeover show Clean House from 2003 to 2010, with which she won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2010. Since then, Nash has had big roles on screens both big and small, appearing in films such as 2009 romcom The Proposal, 2013 comedy-drama Trust Me, and 2014 Academy Award-nominated historical drama film Selma, and television shows Getting On (for which she was nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2015 and 2016), The Mindy ProjectScream QueensBrooklyn Nine-NineMasters of Sex, and Claws (a comedy-drama she has starred in since 2017 and for which she has earned several award nominations), just to name a few.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Nash is continuing to work hard and appear in an array of new and exciting projects. The next thing confirmed for Nash is a supporting, recurring role as the late lawyer, feminist, and civil rights advocate Flo Kennedy, in upcoming Hulu drama miniseries Mrs. America, which is set to premiere on April 15th of this year.
