When nearly everyone is being asked to stay inside and flatten the curve, it’s a safe bet most of us are turning to the single pastime still available that we all have in common: streaming movies and TV. But in one good outcome of our grim reality, most networks and streaming services have offered reduced fees, free content, or extended free trials of their treasure troves of TV and movies to make everyone’s quarantine binge watching a little bit easier.
Whether you’re looking to catch up on the last few episodes of your favorite Showtime drama or feeling nostalgic and diving into an old Disney movie, odds are you can do it for cheaper than you ordinarily would. We rounded up the best discounts out there on all of our favorite streaming services — after all, who doesn’t love a good deal?
CBS All Access
Sir Patrick Stewart let us know earlier this week that new users can enjoy one free month of CBS All Access. Snag this deal to watch Star Trek: Picard (including the show’s Season 1 finale), Survivor and Young Sheldon. Ordinarily, subscriptions to the service range from $5.99 to $9.99/month, but you can sign up for your 30-day trial by entering the code GIFT when signing up for access here, as long as you’re a new subscriber. The limited offer ends April 23, so the sooner you create your account, the more time you have to binge.

Sling TV
If you already pay for a Sling account, listen up, because this one applies to you, too! For both paying and non-paying customers, the internet TV service is offering up ABC News, FX Movie Channel, Hallmark and multiple other channels at zero cost to viewers as part of its “Stay in and SLING!” promotion. Paying customers don’t have to change their subscriptions, and new users don’t need a code for this one — just download the Sling app and you’re good to go.
Sling is also offering a promotion as a “public service” to Americans staying home during the coronavirus. The platform is making access to Sling Blue, its 45-channel live TV bundle, totally free for two weeks from March 26 to April 5. The service is normally $30/month, so the free offer is a substantial cut from its typical price tag. New Sling customers can use the deal to watch more than 50,000 on-demand titles, stream live content from CNN, MSNBC and Bloomberg TV and access Sling’s cloud DVR.
Amazon Prime Video
For families with young children, Amazon is unlocking nearly 50 children’s shows from PBS and Prime Originals to watch for free. As long as you have an Amazon account, you have access to the family-friendly content (and if you don’t, you can create an account for free). The online retailer has created a specific page on its website where you can find all of the titles in one spot, including kids’ programming like Arthur, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Just Add Magic and Pete the Cat.
Spectrum TV
To help keep its customers entertained at home, Spectrum TV announced this week that it’s offering free access to Showtime and Epix for the next three weeks. Spectrum customers looking to get in on the deal must be first-time subscribers to Showtime and Epix in order to be eligible. Showtime is home to series like Homeland and Billions, while Epix claims Godfather Of Harlem and Pennyworth among its creations.
Shudder
Horror fans, this one’s for you. Shudder, a streaming service packed with scary movies and thrillers, is offering 30 days free of its spooky selections. Ordinarily, Shudder costs $5/month, but you can use the code SHUTIN when signing up here to gain access to the trial. Once you’re in, you can enjoy cult favorites like Halloween (1978), Re-Animator and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and Shudder exclusives and originals. Disney+ Bundle
Although it’s not a new offer, the Disney+ package is always a wallet-friendly deal that’s a great option for families since it includes sports, movies and shows from across networks. When you sign up for the bundle, you get ESPN+ and Hulu included in your Disney+ membership, all for $12.99/month. Considering Hulu alone is $5.99/month for the most basic plan, you’re definitely saving when you sign up for this one.
Acorn TV
Anglophiles can access an extended free trial of this streaming service packed with British programming and enjoy Midsomer Murders, Miss Fisher And The Crypt Of Tears, Doc Martin and countless other titles while they’re stuck inside. Sundance Now
For the indie crowd, Sundance Now is offering up a free 30-day streaming trial of festival favorites, extending its ordinary 7-day access period. Starz
For the remainder of the month, Starz is offering a selection of its programming for free streaming. Some of the titles up for access include American Gods, Vida, The Pillars of The Earth and the hilarious-yet-underrated comedy series Party Down. As an added bonus, the pilot episodes of some of Starz’s original series are free to watch — including Outlander, which you can access right here, right now.
Dox Channel
In addition to its 7-day free trial, the documentary streaming service is chopping its annual subscription cost in half, charging $14.99 for a year of non-fiction selections (as opposed to the regular $2.99/month or $29.99/year price). With access to Dox, you can stream content including Blackfish, Oscar-winner Man on Wire and Joaquin Phoenix’s whacky mockumentary I’m Still Here.
