HBO is Making Over 500 Hours of Content Totally Free to Watch, No Subscription Required

You’re officially out of excuses for not catching up on the shows and movies everyone has been telling you to watch for weeks, because by now, nearly every streaming service is offering some sort of deal to watch their content for viewers staying home during the coronavirus pandemic. One more company just joined the list, though — and it’s offering some of the best shows and movies of the past few years for zero cost. For the first time ever, HBO is unlocking a portion of its library of entertainment to watch for free, no subscription required.
The company announced the launch of #StayHomeBoxOffice today, a promotion HBO is running to keep people at home safe and entertained. Starting April 3, you’ll be able to watch more than 500 hours of HBO content without any sort of subscription, account or payment method required. What exactly is included? Every. Single. Episode. Of nine HBO series. You’ll have access to the drama of the scummy Roy siblings in Succession, the cringe-inducing humor in Veep and the insane real-life scam of McMillion$, along with six other titles. Aside from the shows its streaming for free, HBO is also including movies in the #StaytHomeBoxOffice deal. The Lego Movie 2, Blinded By The Light and Sucker Punch are some of the films offered for free.
It’s easy to take advantage of the free collection, you just need the app for either HBO Go (if you already pay for a cable subscription with HBO included) or HBO Now (if you don’t have a cable subscription to link to). You can also go to the HBO Go or HBO Now website to watch — all platforms will be offering the same free content, so you can start watching right away.
HBO hasn’t announced how long the deal will last, so we recommend you start digging into your top picks now. Check out the full list of free HBO content included in #StayHomeBoxOffice below:
