Fallon, Kimmel and Colbert Join Lady Gaga for Virtual Benefit Concert

Last week, Lady Gaga came on Jimmy Fallon‘s show to make a big announcement that never quite happened. But it looks like we’ve some big news from both of them today: Gaga has joined with the World Health Organization and Global Citizen for a two-hour telecast fundraiser led by late night hosts (Fallon is one of them).

One World: Together at Home will be curated by Gaga and will be hosted by competing late night fixtures Jimmy Kimmel (Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC), Stephen Colbert (The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on CBS) and Fallon (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC). The special is set to air April 18 at 8/7c across networks: ABC, CBS and NBC will all show the telecast simultaneously, but you can also watch on MTV, BET, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, Paramount, Pop, TV Land or VH1.

The special, created to honor healthcare workers and support WHO in the fight against coronavirus, has a stacked lineup. Expect to see appearances from Alanis Morissette, Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong, Burna Boy, Chris Martin, David Beckham, Eddie Vedder, Elton John, FINNEAS, Idris Elba, J Balvin, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Kerry Washington, Lang Lang, Lizzo, Maluma, Paul McCartney, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Shah Rukh Khan and Stevie Wonder. Aside from actors and performers, health experts from WHO will be interviewed to inform and educate the public about coronavirus response and prevention.

“The World Health Organization is committed to defeating the coronavirus pandemic with science and public health measures, and supporting the health workers who are on the frontlines of the response,” stated Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of WHO, in today’s press release. “We may have to be apart physically for a little while, but we can still come together virtually to enjoy great music. The One World: Together at Home concert represents a powerful show of solidarity against a common threat.”

In a virtual press conference this morning, Gaga thanked the first responders helping during the global health crisis, Billboard reported. “We are all so very grateful to the healthcare professionals across the country and the world — this global pandemic is a catastrophe; I’m praying for them and also those who are sick,” she said. “I would like to send my prayers to people who are losing their jobs and having a hard time feeding themselves and their children.”

Together at Home first launched as a virtual concert series created in partnership with Global Citizen and WHO. The campaign has provided free concerts to fans at home over the past three weeks on Instagram Live and Youtube, with artists like Charlie Puth, Jennifer Hudson and Niall Horan performing from their homes.
