Hulu users hoping to kick back and relax with some live TV last night were met with an unpleasant surprise. Customers reported widespread issues with viewing channels on their Hulu Live TV accounts, with many missing entire selections from their channel guides on the streaming service.

The issue seemingly happened within hours yesterday (April 6), when some Hulu accounts went from fully functioning in the afternoon to incomplete by the end of the day. When unhappy Hulu customers complained about the outages on Twitter, the company was quick to respond and offer some alternatives to temporarily fix the problem while they worked on a permanent solution to the glitch. Here’s what you can do if you’ve been affected by the Hulu Live TV outage:

Hulu Live TV Missing Channels? Use Browse And Search Instead

For users who lost some or all of their Live TV selection, Hulu suggests that they locate shows and channels using the Hulu search function. So, if you were hoping to catch the news on NBC, search for that if you can’t find it in your channel listings, where it ordinarily would appear. You can either use the browse function to see networks, or directly search if you have the specific title in mind.

Sorry about that! We're currently looking into this behavior and hope to have a fix in place soon. For now, you should be able to pull up live feeds by heading to Browse > Networks > A-Z or searching for a network directly in the app.

Hulu Live TV Missing Channels? Use The Hulu Live TV Networks List

One user, Maureen Denard, tweeted that she “went from a complete listing this afternoon to 9 channels this evening.” As a solution, Hulu recommended the search option or their TV Networks list. Located under the Help section of Hulu’s website, the list has all of the live TV networks and links to redirect users to them so they can watch live content. Just go to the Hulu help website and select the listing you want to watch, and you’re set.

…Or Wait Until Hulu Fixes The Issue

If you just want your channel guide back to normal and don’t want to bother with workarounds like search and browse or the Hulu help website, you can wait it out. With so many users at home turning to TV for entertainment, it’s unlikely Hulu will let the issue linger for long.

And it seems like they’re already able to fix some accounts quickly. Cliff Dorfman tweeted about his Hulu Live TV outage last night and got a swift response from the company saying that they looked into the issue and fixed it. “You should be all set after a quick reboot,” Hulu explained.
