Noah Centineo, Lana Condor Team up With Other Netflix Stars For Instagram Live Mental Health Series

We’d all like to forget about the last time celebrities united to send a message of hope during the coronavirus pandemic, and Gal Gadot and friends with their cringe cover of “Imagine” already feels like it happened forever ago. But today, Netflix’s young adult stars joined together for a video of their own, and it wasn’t to sing to the masses. Instead, Noah Centineo, Joey King, Ross Butler and more announced the launch of Wanna Talk About It?, a new Netflix-Instagram collaboration focused on mental health.

Wanna Talk About It will air on Instagram Live each week, and will feature Centineo, King and Butler, as well as Jerry Harris (Cheer), Lana Condor (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before), Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things) and Alisha Boe (13 Reasons Why). The YA stars will be interviewing different mental health experts throughout the series for advice and tips on maintaining mental health during the coronavirus pandemic, and how to manage loneliness, loss of sleep and anxiety. “I’d like to know if you wanna talk about it,” Centineo says in a video on Netflix’s Instagram. “‘Cause I do.”

“Things are stressful right now, and strange and confusing,” King says in the video posted this morning. “And we want to talk about it,” Condor concludes. Wanna Talk About It? is aimed at Netflix’s young adult audience and will feature advice for viewers from experts at The Trevor Project, Mental Health America, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Crisis Text Line and National Alliance on Mental Illness.

The first episode of the new series will premiere April 9 on the Netflix Instagram page. Centineo will kick off the series of interviews by chatting with Dr. Ken Duckworth, Chief Medical Officer at the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Wanna Talk About It? will continue to post new episodes online through May 14.
