If you’re gonna revisit a TV show on the big screen, you might as well turn it into something new. That’s exactly what the horror hitmakers at Blumhouse did when they brought the ’70s drama Fantasy Island from primetime to movie theaters. Director/co-writer Jeff Wadlow reimagined the island as a dark place where dreams come true, albeit in horrifying ways. Michael Pena steps into Ricardo Montalban’s white suit as the keeper of the island, and the first round of participants include Lucy Hale, Jimmy O. Yang, Ryan Hansen, and Michael Rooker.

When will Fantasy Island be released digitally?
Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island—the theatrical and unrated version—arrives on digital platforms starting on April 14. You’ll be able to watch the horrific twist on the class TV series at full price on VOD platforms like iTunes, Prime Video, FandangoNow, Google Play, Vudu, and more. A digital copy will also be available to download if you buy the Fantasy Island Blu-ray release—but you’ll have to wait a month.

When will the Fantasy Island Blu-ray be released?
Fantasy Island will hit Blu-ray on May 12. You’ll have the option of two different versions: there’s the Blu-ray release (also comes with a digital copy), and there’s a DVD release. All versions of Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island come with the theatrical and unrated versions of the film, regardless of whether you buy it on Blu-ray, digital, or DVD.

What special features will be included?

When will Fantasy Island be on HBO?
No, not HBO. I know! I’m sorry! While there’s a chance Fantasy Island could end up on HBO like previous Blumhouse films, there’s one thing keeping it away: Fantasy Island was distributed by Sony and not Universal (who usually handles Blumhouse distribution). Since Fantasy Island comes from Sony, it’s more likely that the film will go where Sony films go to stream: STARZ. If so, it’s possible that it will stream on STARZ starting in late August.
