Meryl Streep And More Launch New Animated Family Film ‘Here We Are’ on Apple TV+

To celebrate Earth Day this year, Apple TV+ is airing a new animated family film with some famous voices behind the characters. The new short film, Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth, debuts on the streaming service today. It’s based on the bestselling book of the same name by author Oliver Jeffers.

Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth follows a small family made up of a mother (Ruth Negga), father (Chris O’Dowd) and their son (Jacob Tremblay). The film is narrated by Meryl Streep. Over the course of one Earth Day, the seven-year-old son “learns about the wonders of the planet from his parents — and from a mysterious exhibit at the aptly titled Museum of Everything.”

Throughout the film, Tremblay’s character discovers different parts of the planet and meets new people. “Life on Earth is a wonderful thing,” Streep says in the film’s trailer. “It looks big, but there are lots of us on here. We may all look different, but don’t be fooled. We are all people and we all share the Earth.”

The movie celebrates our planet, but also reminds us that of the importance of respecting and caring for the home we all share. “There is so much more for you to learn about planet Earth,” Streep says. “Make sure you look after it, as it’s all we’ve got.” Apple says the film “is a reminder about what we all share in common and why that’s important, driving home our responsibility to our planet and to each other.”

Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth is available to stream on Apple TV+ starting today.
