Sure, you can’t watch new episodes of The Witcher right now. But the cast and creators of Netflix’s fantasy thriller have been secretly bringing you the next best thing: The Great Witcher Bake Off. And it’s absolutely adorable.

GamesRadar was the first to spot the trend. The baking competition started with The Witcher‘s casting director and baking fiend Sophie Holland. Way back on April 9 Holland made some delicious looking bread and casually tweeted “It’s not that I want to challenge @PaulBullionLive to a bake off or anything.” You know what those are? Those are fighting words.

Paul Bullion, who is set to play Lambert in Season 2, quickly accepted on the condition that he could find some flour and yeast. But Bullion was too slow for Holland. Three days later she was taunting him again with these perfect hot crossed buns:

If you know anything about the impulsive, young witcher Lambert you know he doesn’t take a challenge sitting down. Bullion raised Holland’s bread with some professionally shot cinnamon rolls. There was a sword! There was a cinna-flip! There was a wink! It was all kinds of epic.

But the #GreatWitcherBakeOff was far from over. Soon Tom Canton, who plays the king of the elves himself Filavandrel, was nominated to join the fight. Canton changed the stakes, moving away from breads and rolls to make a savory beef wellington. He ended his magnificent entry by bringing in a new challenger: Jeremy Crawford.

Crawford plays the dwarven warrior Yarpen Zigrin. So you better believe he handled his challenge with the upmost respect for the fight. Complete with an axe, Crawford took Canton’s theme of baking things inside of breads and executed an elaborate apple pie.

But as masterful and manly as that pie was, the woman he nominated was not to be outdone. With the warning that Crawford should never bring an axe to a sword fight, Adele Oni, who plays the Zerrikanian warrior Téa, got to work. Set to the masterful soundtrack of Pat Benatar and Geralt’s amulet, Oni changed the game. That’s right, we’re talking chili chocolate bites.

Now the ball is in Jack Wolfe’s, aka Nadbor in Season 2, court. Yesterday, April 22, Wolfe said that he would be putting on his thinking cap to best Oni before passing on his rolling pin. But that hasn’t stopped other members of the Witcher family from stepping up.

Season 2 newbies Mecia Simson and Yasen Atour , who will be playing the sorceress Francesca and the witcher Coën respectively, showed off their skills. Simson harnessed the “Eye of the Tiger” as she introduced the world to her banana muffins. And you better believe she barely touched a thing and let her magic do the work.

Atour took a more on-the-nose approach, rocking out to Tyga and Curtis Roach’s “Bored in the House.” Same, Atour, same.

It’s hard to tell who the real winner of this fight is. But everyone involved can agree on one thing: meatloaf doesn’t count.

Early on The Witcher‘s showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich entered her savory submission. In Hissrich’s defense, her meatloaf looked magnificent. The dish was covered in bacon and swimming in mushrooms. But this is not the type of delicacy Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry would accept.

Holland quickly called out Hissrich’s efforts before upping the ante YET AGAIN. This time Holland brought out the big guns: an adorable kid and a lemon meringue pie.

You better believe we’re going to keep watching this brutal battle for best baker. And hey, if everyone from The Witcher wouldn’t mind sharing their recipes that would be spectacular. We’re getting hungry over here.
