Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Mini Donkey and Horse Make Their ‘Kimmel’ Debut

And you thought lunchtime was a big deal in your house. On Thursday, Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s pets shared their midday meal with Jimmy Kimmel, who seemed slightly jealous about the amount of cookies they get on a daily basis. Schwarzenegger revealed that his miniature horse, Whiskey, and mini donkey, Lulu, have free rein of his house, and they even participate in his at-home workouts. Because nothing gets you jacked quite like benching a mini donkey.

Schwarzenegger’s mini livestock have captivated the internet for the past few weeks, but last night, viewers finally got a chance to get up close and personal with the free-range pets on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Kimmel introduced his guest as “the only human being ever to hold the titles of Mr. Universe and governor of California,” but he should’ve added “donkey wrangler” to the list: when the camera cut to Schwarzenegger, he was seated in his kitchen overseeing a cookie-eating competition between Whiskey and Lulu, two very hungry animals.

“You’ve got an infestation there, it seems,” joked Kimmel. “I’m telling you, I have everything here. I have my Lulu here,” replied Schwarzenegger, as he fed the mini donkey a treat. “They love to eat here when I have lunch … They just like to participate a little bit.”

The Terminator star explained that Whiskey and Lulu “roam around the house” freely. “They go upstairs, they go downstairs, they are all over the place,” he said. “They watch me when I work out and everything like that. It’s really fantastic.” Schwarzenegger added that the animals aren’t necessarily house trained, but they “rarely” go to the bathroom inside. Good for them.

The only downside to his at-home farm? “My favorite thing, my favorite dessert is oatmeal cookies,” Schwarzenegger told Kimmel. “And, of course, they take all my oatmeal cookies away.”

Of course, Schwarzenegger and Kimmel also talked about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, uniting Democrats and Republicans, and his time as California governor, but you know you really just want to see Lulu and Whiskey. In times of crisis, mini livestock is the answer.
