Bill Farmer, Voice of Goofy, Meets America’s Working Dogs in ‘It’s A Dog’s Life’ Trailer

Disney’s new unscripted series stars man’s best friend. It’s A Dog’s Life, an upcoming show on Disney+, celebrates everything dogs do for us and why we have such a special bond with them. In a new trailer for the series released today, we see plenty of working, wagging tails from pups who help humans every day.

In today’s trailer, we meet different dogs who go beyond fetching a stick or doing tricks for a treat. Instead, they help out their owners in all sorts of important ways, from crossing the finish line with a runner in a race to assisting the visually impaired. “It’s the love you feel for a pet and so much more,” one dog owner says in the trailer.

The series will be hosted by the voice behind some of Disney’s most celebrated dog characters, Bill Farmer. Farmer has been the voice of both Goofy and Pluto from the Mickey Mouse universe for over 30 years. Now, he’s stepping out from the recording booth and moving in front of the camera to travel around America meeting furry heroes for the show. Farmer’s new Disney+ series premieres 25 years after A Goofy Movie was first released in April 1995.

In the first episode of It’s A Dog’s Life, Farmer will meet dogs who sniff for whale poop at sea (to help scientists study whale populations) and dogs who help herd sheep. Later in the series, he’ll encounter companion dogs, mascot dogs and and guide dogs for runners. Each new episode will feature two different types of working dogs, and all will include two special guests: Pluto and Goofy.

It’s A Dog’s Life comes to Disney+ on May 15, and new episodes of the series will stream every Friday for 10 weeks. Watch the full trailer for the series in the video above.
