If you’ve been watching Outer Banks on Netflix, chances are you’ve already fallen in love with John B and Sarah Cameron as quickly as quickly as they fell in love with each other. But did you know that these two lovebirds shared a Netflix connection years before Outer Banks even premiered? That’s because John B’s Chase Stokes and Sarah Cameron’s Madelyn Cline both appeared in Stranger Things.

Stokes was the first to appear in the ’80s-inspired show, but no one could blame you if you missed his cameo. Season 1’s “Chapter Six: The Monster” sees Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) preparing to take on the monsters of the Upside Down. After they get their hunting supplies they get distracted by some teenage jerk in a car. That jerk is played by none other than Chase Stokes.

Reed (Chase Stokes’ Stranger Things character) only appears once in the series to yell “Hey Nance, can’t wait to see your movie.” That seemingly nonsensical sentence is a reference to the graffiti Nancy’s former friends and boyfriend have sprayed about her. After seeing Nancy sneak into Jonathan’s room in the middle of the night the trio altered the movie marquee for All the Right Moves to say “Starring Nancy The Slut Wheeler.”

So what do we know about Reed? He’s friends with someone with a cool car, is a mega jerk, and thinks mocking young women in the middle of complicated love triangles is funny. Joke’s on you, bud. Wait until you meet a couple of Kooks by the name of Topper and Sarah Cameron.

Speaking of, Madelyn Cline got a little more screen time in her Stranger Things role. Cline appears as a high school student named Tina in two episodes, “Chapter One: MADMAX” and “Chapter Two: Trick or Treat, Freak.” And if we know one thing about Tina: she’s hungry for Billy’s (Dacre Montgomery) buns.

While the Scorpions’ “Rock You Like a Hurricane” plays, Tina and her two friends ogle over Billy’s tight pants. She’s the one with the teased hair, a fabulous pink pastel jacket, and an expression that says she wants some Billy buns. “Would you check out that ass?” and “Just look at it go” are two sentences that actually come out of her mouth. That’s such a far cry from wholesome queen Sarah, it’s amazing. Watch out Reed and John B. It looks like you have some serious competition, and that competition has a mullet.

Maybe in Stranger Things 4 we’ll learn that Reed the jerk and Tina the horn-dog are actually dating. Until then we always have our Outer Banks fan fiction to fall back on.
