Watch Tom Felton Make Out with Taylor Swift’s Brother in ‘Braking for Whales’ Trailer

Draco Malfoy has a new love interest. In a trailer for Tom Felton‘s new film Braking for Whales, the Harry Potter alum gets steamy with a mystery man, who the world has since identified as actor Austin Swift — as in, Taylor Swift’s brother.

Braking for Whales stars Felton (no, not Emily Osment) and Tammin Sursok as Brandon and Star, estranged siblings who are brought together after their mother’s death. When the siblings are informed of their mother’s bizarre request to dispose of her ashes in the body of a whale, they have no choice but to comply, lest they lose their large inheritance. As they travel to San Antonio, Texas, Brandon and Star attempt to repair their relationship, a task that first requires coming to terms with their true selves.

But the Braking for Whales trailer suggests that that process will be anything but easy. “I’m not going to say it again. I’m not gay,” Brandon tells his sister. He repeats the phrase at various volumes, but Star won’t have it. “I’m not gay!” says Brandon once more, as his sister sits on his torso and wraps his arm around his back. Who doesn’t love a little sibling rivalry?

Star seems to know more than she lets on, because a few seconds later, Brandon can be seen making out with a curly-haired dude against a wall. Said curly-haired dude is actor Austin Swift, the pop star’s brother. Swift is best known for his small roles in Live by Night and We Summon the Darkness, but a turn opposite Draco Malfoy might be exactly what he needs to advance to the next level of his career.

In an interview with The Leaky Cauldron, Braking for Whales director Sean McEwen revealed that the scene where Brandon meets Swift’s J.T. is particularly powerful. “Everything that occurs there was written to be eviscerating and surprising and emotional — and Tom not only brought it but he made it his own and then some,” he said. “The scene culminates with a heartbreaking moment of self realization in the restroom and I think Tom’s performance stands up with the greats. It left the entire crew that evening awestruck.”

Braking for Whales is now available for rent or purchase on Amazon, iTunes, and other VOD platforms. Watch the trailer above.
