VH1’s ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’ Goes Back to Its Roots with Season 5 Cast

With the arrival of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 5 imminent, there is no end in sight to drag’s pop culture reign! VH1 has spilled all the tea on the highly anticipated new season and we are here for it. We now know the when, where, and who—so what are we waiting for? Let’s get into it!

When: RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5 will premiere on VH1 on Friday, June 5 at 8 PM ET/PT. Where: Oh, you read that right. All Stars 5 is dropping on VH1, not Showtime as was previously announced. The press release states that due to the impact of COVID-19 on various scheduling and programming matters across the world of ViacomCBS, the season will remain on Drag Race’s basic cable home.

Now here’s the major info: the WHO of it all! Announced via YouTube, the RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5 cast is:

  • Alexis Mateo (Season 3, All Stars 1)
  • Blair St. Clair (Season 10)
  • Derrick Barry (Season 8)
  • India Ferrah (Season 3)
  • Jujubee (Season 2, All Stars 1)
  • Mariah Paris Balenciaga (Season 3)
  • Mayhem Miller (Season 10)
  • Miz Cracker (Season 10)
  • Ongina (Season 1)
  • Shea Couleé (Season 9)

The lineup is pretty damn sickening if you’re a scholar of Drag Race herstory. Whereas more recent All Stars seasons have focused heavily on queens from newer seasons, All Stars 5 proudly shows off its roots with half of the queens hailing from Seasons 1-3.

That’s not all, y’all! Because the press release also includes a quote from Emmy-winning mistress of ceremonies RuPaul, teasing that some changes may be in store for the All Stars format: “For All Stars 5, we’ve come up with a new twist that is so twisted it’s guaranteed to twist your twisted minds.” All Stars rules are still in effect, but who knows what those rules are now!

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5 debuts on VH1 on Friday, June 5 at 8 PM ET/PT.
