Josh Gad has been busy this quarantine. Between his work on Olaf Frozen shorts and his YouTube reading series, to his recent cast reunion of The Goonies, he’s been churning out plenty of content to help us escape our boredom at home. And now, Gad is at it again, this time with a reunion of the actors from Back to the Future. Gad announced the second episode of his new YouTube series, Reunited Apart, yesterday with a special appearance by Back to the Future’s Lea Thompson.
Gad played coy about who would be joining the reunion, but he did tease a few guest names. Thompson, Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd will all be participating. As for the rest of the crew, Gad literally concealed their identities with some black doodling over a Zoom call screenshot. “Oops. Accidentally marked up this picture featuring all of the surprise guests we’ve assembled for next Monday’s #BackToTheFuture #ReunitedApart reunion in support of @projecthopeorg,” he joked on Instagram.
Gad’s Reunited Apart series showcases different charities helping out during the coronavirus pandemic. Last week’s Goonies episode featured the charity The Center for Disaster Philanthropy. His upcoming Back to the Future reunion will raise funds for Project Hope, a nonprofit organization working to help healthcare workers around the world.
