Yes, That is Jackie Sandler as The Barracuda in ‘The Wrong Missy’ on Netflix

If you recognized the actress who plays “The Barracuda” in The Wrong Missy on Netflix, you might just be a Fandler.

That is indeed Jackie Sandler, aka Adam Sandler‘s wife, playing Jess “The Barracuda,” the competitive coworker of David Spade. Although The Wrong Missy doesn’t star the Sandman himself, this Happy Madison production is a Sandler flick through and through.

That includes a role for his wife, Jackie Sandler, who has appeared in many of her husbands’ films, including Big Daddy, Murder Mystery, Pixels, Blended, That’s My Boy, Bedtime Stories, Zookeeper, Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star, Just Go with It, Grown Ups 1 and 2, Ridiculous Six, Just Go With It, Sandy Wexler, The Do-over, Father of the Year, The Week of, You Don’t Mess With the Zohan, and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.

This is not to say that Jackie Sandler doesn’t also have projects that aren’t Sandler films. She also had a recurring role on the short-lived CBS spin-off, Kevin Can Wait, and appeared on episodes of The Real Rob, Marry Me, Rules of Engagement, King of Queens and The Goldbergs. But Jackie Sandler’s role in The Wrong Missy is notable because it’s not just a bit part—rather, she’s a main character in the cast.

For the uninitiated, the plot of The Wrong Missy is exceedingly simple: Tim (David Spade) invites who he thinks is a hot model to come with him on his company’s corporate retreat to Hawai’i, but accidentally invites “the wrong Missy,” an uncivilized weirdo he met on a blind date (Lauren Lapkus). Sandler comes in as Tim’s aggressive coworker, who is competing with Tim for a promotion to vice president. She calls herself “The Barracuda,” and calls Tim and his work pal Nate (Tim Swardson) “Siegfried and Doy.”

Sandler, who is 45, clearly has a lot of fun playing the villain in this one. The Barracuda not only gets in snide insults and withering looks, but she also gets a synchronized hip-hop dance routine. I wouldn’t want to work with The Barracuda, but I might just join a dance crew with her.
