Space Force

TGIF! By some stroke of a miracle, this week defied the previous laws of three-day weekends (how it always feels longer than a normal week?) and flew by extremely fast! But we aren’t complaining because now it is the start of another weekend that you can fill by exploring the vast wonders of the streaming universe. And boy will you travel far this weekend, because whether you watch Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video and HBO, there are a ton of new movies and shows out that are begging to be discovered.

The first expedition you will embark upon will take you to none other than outer space through Netflix’s new comedy series, Space Force! Starring Steve Carell, this satirical comedy follows one four-star general who is given the crazy task of leading the newly-formed sixth branch of the Armed Forces. And much like the real-life comedy surrounding the creation of this very-real Space Force, the series is sure to inspire conversation and quite a few laughs! In addition to Space Force, the streaming platform is also releasing great titles like High Strung Free Dance and Season 3 of Somebody Feed Phil.

But Netflix isn’t the only platform taking you into the beyond this weekend, because the sci-fi thriller The Vast of Night is also being released on Prime Video for you to explore. Set in 1950’s New Mexico, this highly-acclaimed film follows two young radio workers who, on one fateful night, discover a radio frequency that could change their town forever. And once you have returned home you can embark on a more spiritual and intellectual journey with Season 2 of Ramy Youssef’s Golden Globe-winning series, Ramy on Hulu.

Space Force

It’s finally here! After weeks of anticipation, Space Force has finally launched into the public stratosphere. No, I am not talking about the cancelled start of the real program down in Florida this week, but Greg Daniels’ and Steve Carell’s new workplace comedy now on Netflix. This satirical series centers on Mark R. Naird (Carell), a four-star general who is tasked with leading the newly-formed branch of the Armed Forces: the Space Force. Also starring Ben Schwartz, Diana Silvers, Lisa Kudrow, Jimmy O. Yang and more, Space Force adds (rocket) fuel to the comedy surrounding the new branch, and we cannot wait to watch it set off!

Ramy: Season 2

Ramy Youssef is back with the second season of the dramedy, Ramy. Season 2 of the series follows the first-generation Egyptian-American (Youssef) as he continues on his spiritual journey in his politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood. As he grapples with his two identities (suburban Millennial vs. faithful Muslim), you cannot help but identify with the meaning behind each and every great joke. As Youssef won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy for Ramy, we cannot wait to see what he does to top his stellar work in Season 2.

The Vast of Night

The Vast of Night is a captivating sci-fi thriller about one fateful encounter with what is soon to be assumed as extraterrestrial life.
