‘Fuller House’ Recap: Everything You Need to Know Going into the Final Episodes

Can it be true? Is this really the end of the Fuller family saga? For now, this is very much the case as Fuller House Season 5 is about to drop its final episodes. After just over four years and five seasons, we’ve followed the all-grown-up cast of Full House as they’ve lived, laughed, loved, and passed the torch to a younger generation of wisecracking weirdos It’s been a ride, a real Trollercoaster, and it’s almost time to exit the ride.

We last saw Fuller/Tanner/Gibbler bunch back in December when Netflix released the first half of Season 5. Now, with the back half of Season 5 on the verge of dropping, you might need a refresher. Of course we suggest just rewatching all of Season 5 before the new episodes hit. Why not? You’ll have a great time! But if you don’t have the time, here’s a recap of where we left off before we get back into the groove with our favorite family.

Where did we leave Fuller House Season 5?

If you thought this show, quite possibly the most extra comedy on Netflix, was gonna go into its final stretch of episodes with anything less than a howl, you thought wrong! Back in December, the Fuller House Season 5 midseason finale left us with a real shocker: a triple engagement! That’s right: Fernando re-proposed to Kimmy with an elaborate musical number, the kind that can only exist in Fuller House’s heightened reality, but there was a twist. That proposal was actually Steve’s way of popping the question to DJ! Whoah baby! Then, a twist on a twist: Fernando actually proposed to his ex-wife Kimmy again. That’s two engagements! And finally, Jimmy seized the moment and proposed to Stephanie. Triple engagement achievement: unlocked.

Whereas a lot of sitcoms close out their runs with build-ups to a big wedding, Fuller House set up the back half of Season 5 to culminate in a triple wedding. That’s three times the matrimony, three times the planning, three times the stakes, and three times the fun.
