Billy Bush’s Former ‘Access Hollywood’ Co-Host Slams Him For His “White Privilege”

Billy Bush‘s former Access Hollywood co-host is calling out the TV presenter for his behavior during the time they worked together. Shaun Robinson, a former Access Hollywood host, reacted after Bush expressed his support for Black Lives Matter, claiming that he was not an ally to the black community when they hosted the show together, according to TVLine.

Bush posted a video on Twitter June 1 showing his interview on Extra with Nate Burleson about the George Floyd protests. In the clip, the two discuss how American can change and what the protests have shown, with Bush expressing support for grassroots activism.

But Robinson replied to her former co-anchor’s interview, and was not impressed with what he had to say. “Good Morning @thebillybush,” she wrote. “I appreciate you being an ally NOW. But, if you want to talk about the pain #WhitePrivilege causes African Americans, you should probably also talk to the black woman who sat next to you on the set of #AccessHollywood for years.”

Robinson’s post quickly filled with comments of support for the her, with some users comparing Bush to Lea Michele, who was accused of racist microaggressions by her former Glee costars earlier this week. Samantha Marie Ware said Michele made her life “a living hell” on set and threatened to “shit in [her] wig.” Michele has since apologized. Twitter users saw parallels between Bush’s behavior with Robinson and Michele’s actions with her costars.

When white folks make these meaningless statements do they forget that there are real black people who work with them and went to school with them and know how they treat Black people in everyday life? #BillyBush #LeaMichele,” one tweeted

Comedian Wanda Sykes chimed in, replying, “Hey Billy, go take a seat next to Chachi.” Another user added to Sykes’ comment with “Yup…right on the other side of ms glee @LeaMichele.”

Bush has not yet addressed Robinson’s statement.
