Jeremy Piven Mocked for Charging $15,000 for A 10-Minute Zoom Call

After months of social distancing, most of us are remain inside, still limiting our social interactions to the screen. And with concerts and festivals canceled, there are fewer options for entertainment — but what if you bring the talent to your phone or laptop? Cameo, an app known for its pre-recorded messages from celebrities, is adding a new feature fit for the coronavirus pandemic by offering Zoom calls with athletes, reality stars and actors.

Prices vary across Cameo, ranging from double digits to five-figure price tags. Celebrities like gossip blogger Perez Hilton charge $225 for a Zoom, while chatting with Real Housewife Vicki Ginvalson will set you back $300. Most video calls don’t cost more than a few hundred dollars, but one former Entourage star is asking fans to pay up if they want to chat with him.

Jeremy Piven is charging $15,000 for a 10-minute long Zoom call, AV Club reports. The actor is currently ranked on Cameo as the most expensive celebrity to have a Zoom chat with. He’s listed above former NFL player Brett Favre, who, at $5,000, is only a third of Piven’s price.

Twitter users scoffed at Piven’s pricey request as his Cameo page made its way around the internet. “I literally wouldn’t talk to Jeremy Piven for free,” one wrote.

“Who the hell would pay $15,000 to talk to Jeremy Piven? Find me that person!” one user added.

“Imagine spending $15,000 to talk to Jeremy Piven for 10 minutes. Look, if I wanted to talk to a short douchebag for 10 minutes I can do that for free just by going to Walmart and bumping into the wrong guy,” another tweeted.

Piven is also offering the traditional Cameo, which will cost fans $400 for a brief, pre-recorded video message. If Piven’s price points are too high for you, there are plenty of other celebrities to invite on your Zoom call for at least $10,000 fewer. Book Andrew Dice Clay for $1,400, or hang with former NSYNC member Lance Bass for $1,250. Bachelor fans can book a Zoom with Peter Weber’s mom, Barb, for just $250, while 90 Day Fiancé viewers can have their very own Zoom with Big Ed for $400. There’s truly something for everyone.
