‘Dads’ on Apple TV+: What To Know About the Bryce Dallas Howard and Ron Howard Documentary

Father’s Day is just around the corner, but before you book a brunch at a recently reopened restaurant, you might want to consider the fact that the pandemic is still happening. Luckily, Apple TV+ has a safe, socially distanced Father’s Day activity to off: A new documentary directed by Bryce Dallas Howard called Dads.

This lighthearted documentary features interviews with all kinds of dads, like comedian Judd Apatow and comedian Jimmy Fallon. It also features interviews with six not-famous dads across the globe, as well as interviews between Bryce Dallas Howard and her own famous father, filmmaker Ron Howard, who is a producer of the film. (Yes, in case you didn’t know: Ron Howard is Bryce Dallas Howard’s dad.)

Your dad may not be a Hollywood superstar, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t appreciate a documentary that celebrates the joys and hardships of fatherhood. And if you can’t physically be in the same place as your dad this Father’s Day, you can always watch the film together by sharing your screen. Here’s everything you need to know about the Dads cast, release date, and trailer.

When is the Dads release date? When does the dad documentary come to Apple TV+?

The Dads documentary will begin streaming on Apple TV+ on Friday, June 19, 2020, just in time for Father’s Day. (Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 21, so hurry up and mail that card!)

Who is in the Dads cast?

In addition to Bryce Dallas Howard and her father Ron Howard—as well as archival interviews with Rance Howard, Ron Howard’s late father, and Reed Howard, Ron Howard’s son—the Dads documentary cast includes all sorts of famous dads; most of whom are comedians. You’ve got Judd Apatow, Jimmy Fallon, Neil Patrick Harris, Ken Jeong, Jimmy Kimmel, Hasan Minhaj, Conan O’Brien, Patton Oswalt, Will Smith, and Kenan Thompson. Then you’ve got the less famous dads like Glen Henry, Robert Selby, Thiago Queiroz, Shuichi Sakuma, Rob Scheer, and Reece Scheer.

Is there a Dads trailer?

There is indeed, and you can watch it right here. Happy early Father’s Day!
