And whether you use Amazon Video, iTunes, Vudu or your cable’s on demand service, there are a lot of great new movies out there waiting for you to discover.

We are going to be honest, the list of movies available to watch this weekend is not anything crazy, but you should be spending this weekend celebrating with your friends and family after all! But for when you are inside looking to cool off and nurse that sunburn, you should check out the inspiring documentary about activist and politician John Lewis in Good Trouble. John Lewis: Good Trouble

John Lewis: Good Trouble is an inspiring documentary that sets a long-deserved spotlight on John Lewis: House Representative and civil rights leader. Through interviews with Lewis, his family and political leaders; plus rare archival footage, this moving piece follows Lewis’ 60-plus years serving the people of America through social action and legislative action on gun control, civil rights, health care reform and much more. Porter also reflects on his life and recalls his fateful meeting with Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1957.

The Outpost

Starring Orlando Bloom and Scott Eastwood, The Outpost is a true testament to American valor on this most patriotic weekend. Based on true events, the film follows the story of a team of U.S. soldiers stationed at the deadliest outpost in Afghanistan. Constantly barraged and attacked by Taliban insurgents, the band of brothers must fight together to survive.

A Cinderella Story

Well on a slightly lighter note, A Cinderella Story is available to rent this weekend! This modern take on the classic Disney tale stars Hillary Duff as Sam, a teenage girl living under the thumb of her plastic-surgery-happy stepmother (Jennifer Coolidge in a hysterical role) and two wannabe stepsisters. And then add on the fact that she is the laughingstock of high school as a worker at her late father’s diner and you’ve got one repressed kid. But Sam doesn’t let that keep her spirits down because she has a cyber-relationship with Nomad, a complete stranger…or is he? Also starring Chad Michael Murray as the hunky-yet-intelligent high school quarterback, A Cinderella Story still slaps today as a stand-up romantic comedy.
