‘The Boys’ Are Back in Dark, Witty Season 2 Trailer

The Boys are back. Amazon released a Season 2 teaser today for their Prime Video Original series about superheroes gone bad and the vigilantes who will stop at nothing to hold them accountable.

Season 2 picks up with the Boys on the run, fleeing the Supes, who are determined to track them down. Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) remain hidden, trying to continue with their lives without Billy Butcher (Karl Urban).

In today’s trailer, Billy’s face is plastered all over “Wanted” signs, and the manhunt is on.

“The world still needs superheroes,” Homelander says in the trailer. “So let’s get out there, and let’s take these cocksuckers down.”

Thankfully, Billy’s returned to his crew — “Daddy’s home,” he tells them — and he has a plan. “You’ll love it,” he tells Hughie, who replies, “I won’t love it, I never love it.”

While The Boys have plenty to deal with themselves, not all is well with the Supes, either. Starlight (Erin Moriarty) is trying to find her place in The Seven while Homelander tries to claim control over the group, but a Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media guru and new addition to The Seven, complicates his plan with ideas of her own.

The Boys Season 2 trailer is packed with guts, blood, explosions, and even some catchy music to set the mood: Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start The Fire,” with its own The Boys spin on it. The Boys also stars Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford and Antony Starr.

Amazon is dividing up the Season 2 premiere of The Boys and won’t deliver all of the episodes at once. Instead, the first three episodes of Season 2 will drop on Prime Video Sept. 4, and new episodes will premiere every Friday. The new season of The Boys will end after eight episodes with a season finale Oct. 9.
