‘Unsolved Mysteries’ Netflix: How to Submit a Tip

Unsolved Mysteries is totally bingeable, but it sets itself apart from the rest of the true crime pack in a different way: the audience can actually help crack the case they see onscreen. As puzzling as some of the mysterious deaths and disappearances may be, there’s always an answer out there, waiting to be uncovered — and Unsolved Mysteries wants your help.

As the current No. 1 show on Netflix, the series is getting more eyeballs than ever, which means the clues are rolling in, too. If you’ve seen an episode that sounds familiar to you, or you know some potentially helpful information about a case, Unsolved Mysteries will gladly take your lead. Curious on how to pitch in? We’ve got you covered.

When the series first premiered in 1987, fans could contribute to research and investigations by calling a tip line. But with the new Netflix revival, the show has been taken into our online world, and the method to submit tips has been updated.

Unsolved Mysteries now has a website, unsolved.com, which allows users to share their own story, explore the case archives, and submit a tip about a cold case. To submit your own tip about an episode on the Netflix series, just head to the website and click on the “Send A Tip” option.

You’ll be asked to enter your personal information, including your name, email and phone, as well as your link to the case you’re writing about. Unsolved Mysteries also asks for a story description, tip details, and name of the suspect or victim.

In certain cases, Unsolved Mysteries also offers viewers alternatives to unsolved.com at the end of each episode, such as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for the “13 Minutes” episode, or tips.fbi.gov for “No Ride Home.”

Unsolved Mysteries only premiered on Netflix this month, but it’s already getting flooded with tips from viewers. The show’s creator, Terry Dunn Meurer, told TMZ that the show received over 1,500 tips since the six new episodes dropped on Netflix, and 50 of them have been marked as potential leads in the cases.
