Peacock Premium to Feature More Than 175 Premier League Matches

Peacock is beefing up its live sports coverage in a major way. The new NBCUniversal streaming service has announced that it will present more than 175 Premier League matches on Peacock Premium throughout the 2020-2021 season. Peacock’s Premier League coverage will include 1,500 hours of live matches and pre- and post-game analyses, the largest offering ever available in the United States.

As part of the push into live sports, NBCUniversal will be shifting NBC Sports Gold’s Premier League Pass exclusively to Peacock with the start of the 2020-2021 season in September. Peacock Premium users will have access to more than 175 live matches, as well as full-event replays for all 380 matches on-demand, which will be available after 9 p.m. ET each night. Plus, soccer fans will be able to check out NBC Sports’ robust selection of analysis and coverage, so if you don’t already have a favorite Premier League team, now’s the time to determine your allegiances.

“This exclusive Premier League programming is an exciting addition to our live sports content on Peacock Premium, and we are thrilled to continue delivering our best-in-class Premier League coverage to NBCUniversal linear television customers as well as new Peacock subscribers,” said Rick Cordella, EVP and Chief Revenue Officer, Peacock.

Peacock’s 2020-2021 Premier League streaming news comes just one day after NBCUniversal announced it would be streaming four of this season’s Premier League games for free on launch day, July 15. The six-hour event includes the Burnley v. Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manchester City v. Bournemouth, Newcastle v. Tottenham, and Arsenal v. Liverpool matches, as well as Premier League Live and Goal Zone coverage.

In the weeks and months to come, the streamer will continue its live sports coverage with a Sunday NFL Wild Card playoff game, Olympics and Paralympics coverage, U.S. Open, U.S. Women;s Open and Ryder Cup golf, and recently announced Peacock Originals Lost Speedways, hosted by Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and In Deep with Ryan Lochte.

Peacock is currently available at no additional cost to Comcast Xfinity X1 and Flex customers. When the service launches on July 15, it will feature a free, ad-supported tier with access to more than 7,500 movies and shows, a premium tier (with ads) for $4.99/month, and a premium, ad-free tier for $9.99/month.
