‘Watchmen’, ‘Unbelievable’ Lead 36th Annual TCA Awards Nominations

The Television Critics Association has revealed its list of nominees for the 2020 TCA Awards. In this year’s 36th annual awards ceremony, both Watchmen and Unbelievable are in the lead, with four nominations each, while HBO once again leads as the network with the most nominations after securing the top spot last year, too. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there will not be an in-person ceremony for the TCA Awards, but the winners will be announced at a later date this summer.

Among the list of nominees are first-time streaming services Apple TV+ and Disney+, which both launched in 2019. Apple TV+ secured one nomination with its Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon drama The Morning Showwhile Disney+ snagged two nominations: one for reality program Encore, and the other for The Mandalorian

This year’s list of nominees highlights a wide range of series, from Insecure and The Great to Ramy, McMillions, and We’re Here. Six nominees are vying for TCA’s top award, Program of the Year. It’s between AMC’s Better Call Saul, FX’s Mrs. America, Pop TV’s  Schitt’s Creek, HBO’s Succession, Netflix’s Unbelievable and HBO’s Watchmen.
