Almost two months after HBO Max officially launched, fans are starting to get antsy waiting for the new Friends reunion special. The highly anticipated Friends reunion 2020 was supposed to film in March, but the COVID-19 pandemic complicated those plans. Now, thanks to a new Access Hollywood interview with David Schwimmer, Friends‘ Ross Geller, we finally have an idea when filming will take place. Praise the holiday armadillo.

WHAT’S UP WITH THE HBO MAX FRIENDS REUNION SHOW?
After months of hype, HBO Max was officially set to tape the Friends reunion in late March — and then COVID-19 hit the United States. The streamer quickly put the special on hold, and, like practically every other production, it has remained in limbo ever since.
WHAT DID DAVID SCHWIMMER SAY ABOUT THE FRIENDS CAST REUNION HBO MAX?
In a new interview with Access Hollywood, Schwimmer said that he’s “excited” and “a little nervous” about the Friends reunion show, as it’s the first time he’ll be reunited with all of his co-stars in 10 years. “It’s unscripted, it’s basically a fun interview and a couple of other surprise bits,” he added.
WHEN WILL THE FRIENDS REUNION 2020 FILM?
Schwimmer told Access Hollywood that the Friends crew is hoping to film the reunion special “some time in August.” Mark your calendars, folks!
In an interview on Conan this week, Lisa Kudrow echoed that sentiment, explaining that HBO Max has “something on the books” for next month. “We’ll see. We’re all still waiting for guidelines for shooting things,” she said. “So, hopefully. That would be great to do.”

WHEN IS THE FRIENDS REUNION GOING TO BE ON HBO MAX? FRIENDS REUNION 2020 DATE INFORMATION
This is the tricky thing. Originally, the Friends reunion movie was scheduled to be available approximately two months after filming on HBO Max’s launch day, May 27. If this schedule holds, and if Schwimmer and Kudrow’s August filming date is to be believed, then the Friends special could hit HBO Max sometime in October, or later this fall.
