‘Happy Endings’ Announces Reunion Event with Original Cast, New Material and Fan Q&A

Turns out Happy Endings isn’t over, after all. Well, at least not entirely — the ABC sitcom is coming back for one night only with a special Zoom reunion show, Variety reports.

The full, original cast of the series will reunite to perform new material and answer questions from fans in a live Q&A. Eliza Coupe, Elisha Cuthbert, Zachary KnightonAdam Pally, Damon Wayans, Jr. and Casey Wilson are all taking part, along with a “surprise special guest.”

The Happy Endings reunion will raise money for  Color of Change and José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen to support Black Lives Matter and coronavirus relief efforts, and Sony Pictures Television will make donate to both causes, encouraging fans to do the same.

“For years, the people — and multiple networks — have spoken: They do not want this show to continue. Undeterred, we were finally able to convince them to at least let us do just one weird Zoom thing, as long as we did it ourselves and it was for charity,” series creator David Caspe said in a statement today. “So if you want to watch, please donate to Color of Change and World Central Kitchen, two incredible organizations fighting to make the world a safer, more equitable, just place for all.”

The Zoom reunion will begin with the 30-minute special, “And The Pandemmy Goes To…”, and will end with the Q&A. Fans can submit their questions on Twitter by tagging @HappyEndings with the hashtag #AskHappyEndings.

Happy Endings first aired on ABC in 2011 and wrapped in 2013 after 57 episodes on the network. The comedy tells the story six best friends in Chicago who have to navigate their new group dynamic after one of them leaves the other at the alter the day of their wedding. The show’s writers created an additional episode in 2016 for Entertainment Weekly’s PopFest, focusing on the future of the characters.

The Happy Endings Zoom reunion takes place July 20 at 7/6c. You can stream it on the Sony Pictures Television YouTube page, where it will be free to watch for everyone.
