DC FanDome Reveals Massive Full Schedule of Programming

Where to Stream:

Justice League

Powered by Reelgood

With 24 hours of content, multiple “islands” to visit, and over 300 celebrities, crew-members and creators, it’s not a big surprise that the full schedule for August 22’s virtual DC FanDome event is huge. But that’s underselling it a bit: the schedule is enough to give San Diego Comic-Con (non-virtual edition) a run for its money.

The convention celebrating all things DC Comics, movies, television, games and more will go live at 10 am PDT on August 22, and welcome guests to six different islands. On those islands, which can all be accessed for free at DCFanDome.com, fans will find some interact-able elements, downloadables (particularly on the Kids FanDome island), and even multiple virtual venues. And each of those venues will be running panels, behind-the-scenes sneak peeks and exclusive first looks around the clock, before winding up 24 hours later at 10am PDT on August 23.

Oh, and then like a real live experience, it all goes away forever*.

(*…though I’ll personally be stunned if some of these panels don’t pop up as digital extras at some point later in time.)

You can check out the full schedule for yourself at schedule.DCFanDome.com, but having spent some time looking through it myself, the experience can be overwhelming. The good news is, the site lets you put together — and share — your own, virtual schedule, as well as allowing most browsers to set alerts for 15 minutes before, so you’ll never forget that, say, the Black Adam panel is about to happen when you’ve already been awake for 19 hours. The site also allows you to easily add to your own calendar (though probably not the “Hang In There, Kitty” one hanging on your wall), and is even translated into English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Korean, Japanese and Chinese.

You can also, a Warner Bros. rep confirmed, just sit in a virtual room and watch — one panel will roll into the other, so just like at a real con, you can pleasantly fall asleep and then wake up in the middle of another panel, having no idea why Val Kilmer is answering a fan question about his favorite type of cheese. That said, while switching between islands is relatively simple, some of the virtual environments take a little more time to travel through — so if you want to panel hop, again, just like a real con, you might want to leave some buffer time.

“But what about the content, man? Tell me about the content!!” you say. Okay, fine, buddy.

The Hall of Heroes is the main event — basically FanDome’s Hall H, if you speak Comic-Con — living in the center of the hub, with eight hours of programming that runs on a loop. Three times, in case you can’t do the math in your head.

Highlights include panels for the Snyder Cut of Justice League, Wonder Woman 1984, The Rock’s Black Adam and Robert Pattinson’s new The Batman, but there’s also plenty of comics and other content represented in the room. Here’s a full breakdown of that schedule, followed by some highlights from the other islands.

DC FANDOME WATCHVERSE: HIGHLIGHTS

Here’s where things get a little weird… Unlike Hall of Heroes, WatchVerse is described as “a busy street in the DC FanDome’s theater district.” We’ll ignore that live theater is shut down for the moment, and instead note that this basically means there are multiple places to click on to watch things in the WatchVerse: Monarch, Athena, Kandor, and McDuffie’s Dakota, featuring the Blerd & Boujee House.

Also unlike the Hall of Heroes, WatchVerse is a mix of panels and screenings — though with generally more of a focus on TV, instead of movies. And perhaps most important for your sleep schedule, though some panels will have an encore screening, programming does not loop. That said, here are some highlights from the island:

The Flash – 1:00pm, Monarch
Executive producer Eric Wallace joins cast members Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Nicolet, Kayla Compton and Brandon McKnight to discuss all things Flash with Entertainment Weekly’s Chancellor Agard. Team Flash will break down both parts of season six and look ahead at what is to come with an exclusive trailer for season seven. Fans will also get a look at the exclusive black-and-white noir episode “Kiss Kiss Breach Breach,” which will be available on The Flash season six Blu-ray™ and DVD on August 25. 40 min

Black Lightning – 1:45pm, Monarch
Join Black Lightning stars Cress Williams, China Anne McClain, Nafessa Williams, Christine Adams, Marvin “Krondon” Jones III, Jordan Calloway and James Remar with actor/filmmaker Robert Townsend moderating as they pay homage to the ’90s. Whether it was hit television shows like Living Single and Family Matters, films such as Boomerang, House Party and Blade, the Chicago Bulls domination of the NBA, or rap artists breaking ground — the ’90s were lit! 35 min

Fans will be encouraged to follow along as Jim Lee shows the panelists how to draw the iconic Superman emblem and then share their own versions. DC FANDOME INSIDERVERSE: HIGHLIGHTS

Unlike the Hall of Heroes and WatchVerse that focuses on the stars, the InsiderVerse takes you behind the scenes to show you the crew putting together those movies, TV shows, theme park rides and more. It also features, in a rare peak behind the curtain, the original pitch reels for some of your favorite TV series. Those, and several other behind the scenes docs are running on demand starting at 1pm ET.

Like the WatchVerse, it’s divided into different “stages.” And also like WatchVerse, many panels screen multiple times, but it doesn’t loop like Hall of Heroes, so get ’em while they’re hot.

Full disclosure: I moderated the stunt panel highlighted below, and imho it’s worth your time checking out, but I’m also pretty biased.

DC FANDOME KIDSVERSE: HIGHLIGHTS

Probably the biggest draw of the KidsVerse island is interactive elements for the young ones, as well as panels — and luckily, it’s accessible through its own portal so they don’t accidentally bump into those raunchy Titans and get freaked out.
