Teeter And Colby Are Alive And Kissing On ‘Yellowstone’

The Yellowstone fandom can breathe a sigh of relief. Teeter (Jen Landon) and Colby (Denim Richards) are alive, though not well, after Wade Morrow (Boots Southerland) and his son, Clint (Brent Walker), tried to trample them to death. This week’s episode of Yellowstone, “I Killed A Man,” opens with Colby frantically searching for Teeter in the dark while Ryan Bingham’s haunting “Snake Eyes” plays in the background.

A Teeter/Colby romance has been a long time coming for Yellowstone fans. Ever since she’s entered the bunkhouse, Teeter has had eyes for the good-natured and hard-working Colby. Of course, Teeter’s ways of flirting are unorthodox and aggressive, to put it mildly. When we spoke to Jen Landon, she said this about working with Denim Richards to convey Teeter and Colby’s budding relationship: “We had to have this kind of role reversal in the sense that Teeter’s sexually harassing Colby. So, we had some conversations where I was checking in with [Demin] like, ‘Hey, are you okay with this? Hey, I’m going to touch you here at this point. Is that cool?’ He was always game and collaborative.”

Throughout the season, Colby has warmed to Teeter and her wild and unruly ways. They are each drawn to the other and anything is game in the bunkhouse, after all. Teeter’s crass attempts at flirting are part of her charm, and Colby and Yellowstone fans understand them. While their relationship is unconventional (to say the least!), the two have shared intimate moments in the bunkhouse that sent fans hearts-aflutter.

That said, on Yellowstone it usually takes the threat of death to make characters realize how they really feel about people. When Colby is taking care of Teeter’s head wound, Richards does a beautiful job of displaying emotions of concern, relief and tenderness as he gently comforts the usually tough-talking Teeter. As Teeter, Landon lets Teeter’s hidden vulnerability shine through as the two characters share a quiet moment. It’s Colby who kisses Teeter, happy that they are alive and finally together.

Of course this sweet scene is disrupted by Teeter saying, “You should’ve fucked me while I still had a face, but that’s all right, we’ll work on yer timin’.” Colby only laughs. Teeter is who she is, through and through.
