Based on the book by K. A. Applegate—which in turn is loosely based on a real-life drawing Gorilla named Ivan—The One and Only Ivan was originally scheduled to release in theaters this summer but was moved to a streaming release thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. The One and Only Ivan will begin streaming on Disney+ on Friday, August 21. That’s tomorrow!

WHAT TIME WILL THE ONE AND ONLY IVAN BE ON DISNEY PLUS?

New titles are typically added to Disney+ at 3 a.m. ET, or 12 a.m. PT. If you live on the west coast, but still don’t see The One and Only Ivan on Disney+ when the clock strikes midnight, try refreshing the page or logging out and logging back in again. Ivan would want you to be patient!

WILL THE ONE AND ONLY IVAN BE ON NETFLIX OR HULU?

No. The One and Only Ivan is being released exclusively on Disney+, and you’ll need a subscription to Disney+ to watch it. It will not be on Netflix or Hulu.
