Stars — they really are just like us. Last night Jennifer Garner finished her binge watch of The Office. And she had some big feelings about leaving Dunder Mifflin.

In true Office form there’s a lot going on with Garner’s tribute to the NBC classic. First off, she accidentally shot her first tear-filled video in slow motion. So while a cheery voiceover asks fans to guess what show Garner and her kids watched for an episode a day, you can see the star slowly contort her face in sadness. It’s a very jarring combination and a very silly one.

But Garner’s molasses tears make sense. Though later seasons of The Office aren’t quite as perfect as the era of Steve Carell, that finale packs a punch. Seeing Michael Scott return for Dwight and Angela’s wedding is wonderfully wholesome. From Kelly ditching her baby to run off with Ryan to Toby sobbing while finally getting his dance with Pam, everything about that final episode is perfectly in tune with these absurd characters we all grew to love.

Then there’s the reality of watching an episode a day of The Office during these times. In total there are 201 episodes of the 2000s-era sitcom. Though Garner doesn’t mention COVID in her post, if you count from when New York City public schools closed on March 16, we’ve all been in quarantine 155 days. Even if Garner and her kids started watching before the quarantine or doubled up some days, there’s no way finishing an epic binge didn’t hit harder given the current circumstances.

Thankfully for Garner The Office’s cast swooped in to sooth her tears. “I love this. I love you and your family and just so you know the finale makes me bawl my eyes out too!” Angela Kinsey wrote on Garner’s Instagram post.

“Oh Lady!! This is the sweetest and most wonderful post!! Sending you lots of love and if you want to start over @angelakinsey and I are re-watching for the podcast,” Jenna Fischer offered. Here’s hoping that offer will lead to a Jennifer Garner guest appearance on Office Ladies. In the meantime take a page out of Garner’s emotional book and press play again on The Office. During times like these, we all need a good comfort watch.
