It’s difficult to reach a unanimous decision on…well… anything, but the one thing everyone agrees on is that Cobra Kai is truly sensational television. The first two seasons of Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg’s exceptional Karate Kid revival are Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with Season 1 earning a pitch-perfect 100% Tomatometer score… and that’s with 44 different reviews.
In May of 2018, I wrote that Cobra Kai was “one of the hands down best shows of 2018.” In August of 2020, I’m writing that Cobra Kai is one of the hands down best shows of 2020. If the show somehow ends up on Hulu in two years, I’ll write that Cobra Kai is one of the hands down best shows of 2022. After that I’ll retire in glory, just like that paperboy from the hit video game Paperboy.
