HOW TO WATCH MULAN ON DISNEY PLUS:

Mulan will be available to purchase for $29.99 on Disney+ this Friday, September 4. You can buy the film by going to the Disney+ landing page for the film on your browser or Disney+ app.

WHEN WILL MULAN BE ON DISNEY PLUS? WHEN IS MULAN RELEASED ON DISNEY PLUS?

Mulan (2020) will be available to Disney+ with subscribers with “premier access” on Friday, September 4. If you have a Disney+ subscription, that means you can pay to see Mulan early for a $29.99 fee.

WHAT TIME WILL MULAN BE ON DISNEY PLUS?

New titles are typically added to Disney+ at 3 a.m. ET, or 12 a.m PT. If it’s midnight on the west coast on Thursday night and you still don’t see Mulan on Disney+, try refreshing the page or logging out and logging back in again. Given that this is a new feature on Disney+, it may take a little longer to load.

HOW MUCH DOES MULAN COST?

Mulan costs $29.99 to buy on Disney+. You must be subscribed to Disney+ in order to purchase the film, however, so if you include the cost of a Disney+ subscription, which is $6.99 a month, Mulan costs about $37. Once you purchase the film, you will be able to watch it whenever you want, for as long as you want, as long as you stay subscribed to Disney+.

WHAT IS DISNEY PLUS PREMIER ACCESS?

“Disney Plus Premier Access” is simply the name Disney+ invented for the premium video-on-demand release of Mulan. It’s similar to the way that movies like Trolls World Tour and Bill and Ted Face the Music were released on iTunes or Amazon for $19.99, except Mulan is available exclusively on Disney+. It is not yet clear whether Disney will later release the movie to be available to buy and rent on other platforms like Amazon and iTunes.

WHEN WILL MULAN BE AVAILABLE WITHOUT PREMIER ACCESS?

Mulan will be available for Disney+ Premiere Access until November 2. Starting December 4, Mulan will be free for all Disney+ users at no extra charge.

WILL MULAN BE ON AMAZON FIRE TV OR CHROMECAST?

According to Disney+’s website, Mulan will be available with premier access only on select platforms, including Apple TV, Google, and Roku. Notably absent is Amazon’s Fire TV and Chromecast, among other devices. In an email to Decider, a representative from Disney explained that Mulan will only be available for purchase on select platforms, however, once you buy the film, you’ll be able to stream it from any platform where Disney+ is available. In other words, you can always buy Mulan on a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer, over at disneyplus.com, and then you’ll be able to watch it on whatever device you have connected to your TV. Update, September 4, 9:15 a.m.Well, it looks like Amazon and Disney Plus reached a last-minute deal. You can purchase Mulan on Amazon Fire TV and Fire Tablet devices, after all. Huzzah!
