Talk about a blast from the past. Last night, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt reunited during Dane Cook’s Fast Times at Ridgemont High table read, and the public forum didn’t prevent them from getting flirty — as their characters, that is. The exes reenacted Brad Hamilton’s iconic dream scene, in which Linda Barrett slowly emerges from the pool and undresses. These days, it’s not very often that we get to hear Jennifer Aniston seductively say, “Hi, Brad.”
Aniston and Pitt’s Fast Times at Ridgemont High reunion has been teased since the table read was first announced, but fans couldn’t have possibly imagined that the two would be reenacting one of the film’s most well-known scenes. With Morgan Freeman reading stage directions and Matthew McConaughey, John Legend, Julia Roberts, and Henry Golding looking on, the two stepped into Brad and Linda’s shoes (or in this case, bathing suits) and dove into their respective roles.
“Hi, Brad. You know how cute I always thought you were,” says Aniston as Linda, who was originally played by Phoebe Cates. “I think you’re so sexy. Will you come to me?”
As Freeman reads the very seductive stage directions — “She pushes him away so he can watch as she carefully unstraps the top of her bathing suit, the incredible Linda Barrett’s breasts fall loose, lord have mercy” — the stars lose it. Of course, they all know what comes next: Linda, in search of a Q-tip, heads into the bathroom, where she finds Brad masturbating to his dream.
“Oh god, I’m so sorry! I did not know anybody was in here,” says Aniston. “Doesn’t anybody fucking knock anymore?!” replies Brad-as-Brad. End scene.
The Brad and Jen reunion may have been as brief as Brad Hamilton’s dream, but fans enjoyed it nonetheless. “I’m grinning like an idiot watching Brad and Jen interact like this,” wrote one viewer. “How is this real I’m screaming,” added another.
