That means that for seven weeks, 12 bakers joined Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith, Noel Fielding, Matt Lucas, and the show’s crew in a contained bubble. The first two weeks were quarantine followed by five weeks to film 10 episodes. Contestants could only return to their loved ones after being eliminated. (Which kind of makes being cut from the show all the more bittersweet this year.)

Down Hall Hotel Spa and Estate is a luxury hotel located northwest of London, England. It was the homebase of this season of The Great British Baking Show. Contestants and crew stayed in the hotel while the show itself was filmed inside the traditional Bake-Off tent, erected on Down Hall’s grounds.
