Cinedigm and Kanopy Deal Will Bring 24 New Films to the Free-to-User Streaming Service This Month

Kanopy is expanding its offerings, thanks to a deal with Cinedigm. Kanopy, a free-to-the-user streaming platform available through partnered universities and libraries, is planing to add dozens of new films starting today that will be rolled out as the month continues. In October, users will have access to a collection of films featuring actors like Robert Pattinson, Shia La Beouf, Florence Pugh and Bradley Cooper as Kanopy adds 24 Cindegim titles, ranging from documentary to horror.

“Kanopy offers consumers physically or virtually visiting educational institutions and libraries with direct access to a catalog of titles that entertain, enrich and engage audiences,” said Yolanda Macias, Executive Vice President, Cinedigm Entertainment Group. “Cinedigm is thrilled to partner with Kanopy to increase accessibility of our films to library members.”

Among the list of new films coming to Kanopy this month are some standout titles like Life, a James Dean biopic starring Pattinson as the late actor; The Falling, a 2014 horror movie featuring Pugh and Maisie Williams as students at an all-girls school; The Look of Silence, Academy Award-nominated doc about a family who survived the Indonesian genocide; and Our Nixon, a historical look back at the Nixon presidency.

Other titles to look forward to include the bullying documentary A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story; New York, I Love You starring La Beouf, Cooper and Natalie Portman; and Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer, about the Russian music trio who faced jail time for their satirical performance.
