Yes, Kathie Lee Gifford Has Seen Her Son-in-Law’s Too Tight Pants on ‘Family Feud’: “It’s Hard to Miss It”

Leave it to Kathie Lee Gifford to tell the world about her son-in-law’s, uh, natural gifts. This week, the former Today host stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she was asked about son-in-law Ben Wierda’s too-tight pants moment on Celebrity Family Feud. Gifford revealed that she has seen the viral video of Wierda checking out his very visible moose knuckle, as it’s pretty “hard to miss it” (ick). Added Gifford with a laugh, “I’m glad it’s not my son.”

On Tuesday night, Gifford sat down with Andy Cohen and Gloria Estefan to talk about the week in Bravo, but the discussion quickly turned to her family’s recent episode of Celebrity Family Feud, which aired last Thursday on ABC. “Kathie Lee, before we go to break, I have to ask you,” said WWHL host Andy Cohen. “You were on Celebrity Family Feud last week with your family. Have you seen the little moment that is going viral of your son-in-law realizing that his pants are incredibly tight?”

Gifford initially rolled her eyes at the question, but she played along. “Yes, I have seen it,” she replied with a laugh. She added that she’s happy the too-tight-pants wearer wasn’t her own son, Cody, as she’s now one degree removed from the situation. “It’s Cassidy’s husband, whom I adore,” said the veteran television host.

“But none of us realized it. We were playing the game, for goodness sakes,” continued Gifford. “And we get very, very excited about it, and –”

“He looked like he was excited about it, too!” joked Cohen. “That’s what I’m saying!” said Gifford with a smile. “But she said to him, I guess, earlier before that whole thing started, she said, ‘You’re going to wear those on television? They’re awfully tight.’ And he goes, ‘Oh, they’re fine.'”

Of course, the chinos were not fine. “They woke up the next day after it aired the other day to this firestorm of publicity,” recalled Gifford, laughing. “It couldn’t happen to two better [people] — he’s an incredible, good guy. And he’s got one of the best — they’ve both have an outrageous sense of humor. We all do in our family. And all they’ve been doing is laughing about it ever since. So it’s all good.”

I guess if you go viral for proudly displaying your junk on national television, you have no choice but to laugh it off.
