‘Great British Baking Show’ is Obsessed With Boobs This Season

The Great British Baking Show has always loved its naughty puns. From its obsession to hot buns and giant nuts, the hosts and judges have never shied away from a sexy double entendre. Last season even make a point to zoom in on baker David’s own buns. We’re only two episodes into a brand new season of The Great British Baking Show on Netflix and there already seems to be a shocking new obsession with boobs. Just last week, host Noel Fielding joked he was turned on by the boobs on Hermine’s Lupita Nyong’o cake. And this week co-host Matt Lucas straight up joked that Mark would be icing nipples on his great boob-like biscuits.

What is it with The Great British Baking Show and boobs this season!?!?

Okay, so yes, for all its sweet throwback charm, The Great British Baking Show has also cultivated a reputation for being rather randy. There has been the squirrel with the erection, Alice’s “chocolate starfish” designs last year, and a non-stop bun pun parade since day 1. Even this most recent episode features Prue Leith giddily teasing Mark about his “very large nuts.” However the last two weeks have also lingered on another anatomical body part: the boobies.

First there was Hermine begrudgingly admitting she was sculpting cake breasts on international television in The Great British Baking Show Collection 8 premiere. That alone could have been brushed over. However in the latest episode, we get another boob reference during the showstopper. Matt Lucas sees the biscuit bowls Mark has made and literally says he’s going to ice “a nipple there and a nipple there.” And yeah, they joke that they look like breasts.

So what does it all mean? Well, it means that nuts and buns are no longer randy enough for The Great British Baking Show‘s producers. No, we need to break out the boobies like it’s a Cinemax after-hours special in the late ’90s!!

But seriously, it’s probably just a coincidence. The Great British Baking Show‘s hosts have always done their best to squeeze the most laughs out of the competition. The easiest way to do that? Naughty puns. While Hermine basically walked right into boob joke territory, Matt seized the opportunity with Mark’s biscuits himself.

Time will tell if The Great British Baking Show will continue to reach for boob jokes as the season goes on. If it becomes a weekly thing, then there might be concerted effort to find as many boobs in the bakes as possible. For now, it’s just a delicious coincidence. After all, it would need to happen three times to be a trend, let alone a production conspiracy…

But still it is kind of weird that The Great British Baking Show is suddenly really into boobs this year. Just saying!
